ABOUT ABOUT

Leave behind the transience of modern life and connect to the enchanting melodies and vibrant characters of the Armenian village, through songs in three-part harmony. The lively story-telling and passionate singing of the Armenian folk trio animate the trials and joys of traditional folk life: budding romance in elevated gardens, gossip in village markets, the war of vanity between local village girls, the moonlit faces of shepherd boys and their brides, echoes of loss, and the enduring vibrations of dance, celebration and survival... The singers bring a sense of both the earthly and the ethereal to their music. The audience is invited to journey to a simpler time and place. A concert which promises to be both playful and transporting. All are welcome.

Zulal’s singers, Teni, Yeraz and Anaïs have been singing together since 2002. The trio has performed in such esteemed venues as the Getty Museum, Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall, The Kennedy Center's Millennium Stage and New York's Symphony Space, along with performances for Cirque du Soleil, Berklee College of Music, and the Silk Road Project. Zulal has scored the film Stone Touch Time and has two critically acclaimed albums to its credit.
